As Thanksgiving nears tomorrow, we are excited to have finally launched our new website, (www.ItalianBeef.com), so we want to give thanks to all of our fans and to all of those who have been helping us get the new site up. We would also like to thank our great nation, those who are serving and to those who have served. We also would like to thank our great city, the City of Chicago and it just wouldn’t be proper if we didn’t thank those who created this delicious Italian Beef Sandwich! Many, many thanks go out to all of our generations of Italian Beefeaters for making this such a great Chicago food. Of course, when it comes to Italian Beef stores, we are always happy to announce and promote the opening of any new location, so we’d also like to thank Pop’s Italian Beef and congratulate them on opening a new store in Elmhurst on the corner of Route 83 and North Ave. Frank Radochonski started Pop’s Italian Beef & Sausage on the south side.
The original store first opened March 24, 1980, in Palos Heights, IL, so Pop’s celebrated their 30th-anniversary last year and are continuing to grow each year, congrats Pop’s! If you’d like to show your support for Pop’s you can go to the new store in Elmhurst which opens this next Monday, November 28th. Make sure you tell Jim (one of the owners), that you saw this article on ItalianBeef.com!!I also recently was made aware of another mom and pop Italian Beef place in Berwyn., Brando’s Beef (http://www.brandosbeef.com). Brando’s Beef was featured on Chicago’s Best, as the best bargain lunch. You can get an Italian Beef with Fries for $5 bucks. Brando’s makes their own Italian Beef, although I have not had it personally yet, (that will soon change) I hear their Italian Beef is pretty good.
If you know of any good Mom and Pop shops, please let us know, as we’d like to get out and test as many different Italian Beef Recipes as we can. We are constantly in search of Chicago’s best Italian beef’s, so your help is needed. We are also looking for some of those that make their own Sweet Peppers and Hot Giardiniera, so drop us a line if you know of a place.
Again, Happy Thanksgiving!! and for those of you traveling, please travel safe!!
